I have worked with Julia and Matt for a few years now. My first time working with them was for Easton's 6 month photo session, and now here we are--all the sudden Easton is 2 years old and running around! One of my faaavorite things about my job is working with the same family from year to year and seeing how kids have grown, especially when I've worked with them from such a young age. They grow so quickly--it always amazes me how from 6 month to a year old they grow so much, and from 1 to 2! It's so fun to see their personalities start to shine through.
For this year's family photos, Julia picked Aamodt's Apple Farm--one of my favorite locations to shoot! I love going to apple orchards in the fall and honestly, prefer the rich greens and reds of apple trees to the bright oranges and yellows of changing leaves.
Easton seemed to really enjoy being there too. He was having a blast running around (I got a workout in chasing him around!) and picking up apples. Julia brought the red wagon with to use as a prop, but Easton was much more interested in pulling it than sitting in it--ha!
This was one of those sessions where the kiddo didn't want to do pretty much anything suggested by me, mom or dad. I know sessions can be tough sometimes for parents sometimes when kiddos don't cooperate like you want. My best advice is to try not to sweat it, and trust me to do my job. ;) Trying to force kids into poses and prompts they aren't interested won't result in an image you want anyway (unless you want pouty and angry). So what do we do? We follow the kids lead. That's how we get the shots with real smiles. And if necessary, we bribe them with gummy treats. :)
